What is the Volaris Airlines Pet Policy?

While traveling on Volaris, you can bring your furry kids on your trip under the allowance of the Volaris Airlines pet policy. The pets can be carried on carry-on or shipped on cargo, depending upon the pet’s size. Small dogs, cats, or birds can travel as carry-on baggage for a fee. Thus, pets must be physically and mentally fit. 

Allowance on Volaris Airlines Carry-on Pet Policy

Pets that are small and can be adjusted in a small cage, while the cage should be well-ventilated and can be kept in front of your seat.

• ➡️Pets must be at least 10 weeks old when traveling domestically.
• ➡️If the pet travels from the US to another country, it must be 16 weeks old. 
• ➡️Therefore, for some exceptions, one female cat/dog might travel with her baby, aged 10 weeks to 6 months.
• ➡️Same-breed pets between 10 weeks and 6 months of age might be allowed to travel together in one carrier. Two pets are small enough to fit into a single carrier and are friendly to each other. 

Carry-on carrier restrictions 

You must check some restrictions before traveling with your pets. The carrier should be well-ventilated and small enough to fit under the seat in front of you. Moreover, you can add your pet by calling the Volaris Airlines phone number per the policy. 

• ➡️The carrier should be leak-proof and have a ventilation opening from three sides.
• ➡️The pet must be small enough to fit comfortably without touching the sides of the carrier and can quickly move around.
• ➡️The dimension of the carrier is subjected to the flight under-seat space. Volaris Airlines suggests a soft carrier up to 17.5*12* *7.5 inches for pets. 
• ➡️The pet should remain inside the carrier while boarding, lounging, and in the aircraft. 

While traveling with pets, they must not sit in the following seats: 

• 🗸 Bulkhead seats.
• 🗸 An emergency exit row.
• 🗸 Seats designated as “no stowage.”
• 🗸 Flat-beds seats. 

Pet Allowance on Volaris Cargo

Per the policy, Volaris Airlines allows you to add a pet as cargo for domestic and international routes. 

• ➡️A separate booking is required for the flight, including all charges.
• ➡️A pet shipped through Volaris cargo on domestic routes cannot be booked until 14 days before the departure.
• ➡️There is no guarantee that pets and their owners will fly on the same flight.
• ➡️You can drop your pets off three hours before departure at Volaris Cargo. 
• ➡️Thus, you must come to the cargo location to pick up the pet.

• The cost is $45 for flights within Mexico and $65 for flights between Mexico and the United States. The fee for other international flights is $95.
